Now experienced the same for the latest 4.2 build: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/eclipse/downloads/drops4/I20120430-1800/eclipse-SDK-I20120430-1800-win32.zip webmasters, Any ideas here? As far as I know, nothing we do effects "friends" area ... are our permissions off or anything? Adjustments needed to "friends" settings? What do you mean, not available? I can access both of those just fine. (In reply to comment #3) > What do you mean, not available? I can access both of those just fine. Yeah, *now* I can as well. At the time I wrote the comments hey were *not* there. Ah, hence a releng issue. One of those "the web page says they're there but they're uploading" I presume. (In reply to comment #5) > Ah, hence a releng issue. One of those "the web page says they're there but > they're uploading" I presume. I doubt, unless uploading is expected to take several hours. There was a few days, early on, but not as late as the 30th, that I used -t in my rsyncs (which I know can mess up "apparent mirrors" but not recently, just
rsync --recursive "${fromDir}" "${toDir}"
And THEN I update the download page,
And THEN I send the mail announcing it,
So ... not sure what I could do different?
To cross reference, bug 378303 is about an apparent delay getting download files, from http://downloads ... and that's from Eclipse infrastructure. Not sure what the time lapse is, but probably somewhere bwtween 10 seconds and 2 minutes. I'm going to add a "sleep" of 5 minutes to see if that fixes it. Does that "sound right"? or sign of problem? If the former, should 5 minutes be enough? Or, is it known it can sometimes be 10 minutes? If the latter, any other data I can provide? I can certainly fetch it now, externally, or from build.eclipse.org. $ wget http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/I20120502-1300/eclipse-Automated-Tests-I20120502-1300.zip --2012-05-02 17:01:31-- http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/I20120502-1300/eclipse-Automated-Tests-I20120502-1300.zip Resolving download.eclipse.org... 172.30.206.10 Connecting to download.eclipse.org|172.30.206.10|:80... connected. On the other hand, http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/I20120502-1800/download.php?dropFile=eclipse-SDK-I20120502-1800-win32.zip was available on the friends site (tried at the same time). On a different note: I receive the file from the main server much faster than from the friends mirror. LOL. (In reply to comment #9) > Just tried > http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/eclipse/downloads/drops/I20120502-2000/eclipse-SDK-I20120502-2000-win32.zip > > ==> not there (but it is on the main download site). Assuming you are trying around now (within past hour or so) this reminds me of one complication with the way we do things -- complications for mirrors, at least. When the build finishes, we up load everything, mirrors would have them after a short while (and sounds like "friends" is a mirror? Just a special one? AND THEN, many many hours later perhaps at several separate times, (and a couple of times within the past one hour :) we upload the test results, which includes changing some files in main directory, so that might make mirrors then seem "out of date" for a short while until they "re-get" the latest content? Just a possibility ... thought I'd mention it, in case relevant. When the build finishes, we up load everything, mirrors would have them > after a short while (and sounds like "friends" is a mirror? Just a special one? I guess so. Guess what? Now it works! But of course I won't have enough patience each time to try until it works. I just give up and use the main download link, thinking that the friends mirror is a bit lame ;-). I believe bug 379376 outlines the issue. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 379376 *** |
