In the repositories view I did a "Check out..." on the org.eclipse.pde.ui 
project from the /home/eclipse repository on eclipse.org.

After it loaded the project it did an auto-build. At the end of the build I got 
a dialog saying "Cannot close connection".

This is the entry in my .log file:

!MESSAGE Cannot close connection

- this message isn't helpful. I don't have an indication as to whether or not 
the check-out was sucessful or failed
- sentences presented to the user should end with a period
