Created attachment 213364 [details]
shows the empty dialog in my host

Version: 4.2.0
Build id: I20120321-0610

There is no content in the Show View dialog in my host workspace. Oddly enough there is content in my target workspace. Restarts + new workspaces have no effect.

Reproduced on Linux Mint 12 and Win7

See the attached screenshot

Also found it only works in a target workspace if you have the platform UI projects in your host workspace

Confirmed this is a regression

Works in I20120315-1300
Broken in I20120321-0610

Debugging a bit and it appears that view descriptions are no longer being added to view categories, which also breaks the Customize perspective dialog.

Steps:

1. Window > Customize perspective...
2. go to the Shortcuts tab
3. change "Submenus" to 'Show View'
4. notice there are no shortcuts in the RHS table
