it would be useful sometimes to be able to create a named template for a file
i could the use it and not do all the work manually

Simon, Not sure if this should be assigned to Platform/Text or not. Will
watch this one.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking for? Are you asking for a feature
where you can create a file, add some default content to it, and then "mark"
this file as a template? Then the next time you create a file, you could
specify to create its content based on the template file? Kinda like the
template idea for projects (in 3.0 proposed plan) but for a file instead.

Adam, could you let me know what you meant by this request?
Comment 4 Adam Kiezun CLA 2003-05-27 14:53:23 EDT
sorry i took so long
yes, i want to create a file and be able to save it as a template
so that it then appears in the menu when i say 'new'
also, variables could be provided in the file (and i would be asked for their
values before creating the file)

To be looked at after release 3.0
Comment 6 Denis Roy CLA 2009-08-30 02:19:39 EDT
As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
