Tree and Table are the same widget on the client. While this is not true on the server, the API and behavior are nearly identical in most aspects. For these reasons we agreed not to make it two different widgets in the protocol, its also more flexible and easier to maintain.

However, its currently called "Tree" in the protocol, which isnt really fitting. I remember "Grid" was in discussion as an alternative. We should use that.
