Description Heiko Böttger CLA 2012-02-08 12:12:25 EST
Build Identifier:

When renaming a java interface used as adapter type:

<adapter type="test.IRootEditorInput">

the extension point description is not updated to the new name/location.

If that is not possible, there should be at least a validation error in the plugin.xml.

Workaround:
 * alwasy write a testcase testing if the adapter is provided via Platform AdapterManager
 * Use search and replace if an adapter is no longer working

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a AdapterFactory with some adapter interfaces
2. Register the factory as an extension in plugin.xml
3. Rename an adapter interface
4. Look into the extension descrition and see that the type is not updated

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
