For FOSDEM in Brussels this week, Simon and Ken hacked up a way for me to cache a number of plug-ins[1] with the localhost server I was running on my laptop. It turned out that this was of great value, as the conference wifi was pretty spotty.

I think that this would be a great feature to have. E.g. the ability for server administrators to cache copies of plug-ins with the server. I would suggest that one of the attributes be its home url.

This has benefits, not only for running locally, but for teams to cache a standard set of "blessed" plug-ins for use.
