Currently you can easily use the 4 arrow keys to expand, collapse and go to next/previous files/matches.
You can also "iterate" from tool bar but I found there are something really not that convenient:
Once you iterate on a file that is not expanded yet, you have to either use the expand button or click again on the result and use "->" key.
When using the tool bar iterating, you may just want to go through all the files/matches no matter a file is expanded or not.

To resolve this, I will add an option in general logic(Bug 369738).
The option will allow you to force expansion on an expandable model when iterating.
