+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #357667 +++

Build ID: RSE 3.4M5 (Juno)

When testing bug 357667 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine, I could not use the telnet subsystem due to a NullPointerException.

Martin,
do you have a stack trace?
Comment 2 Martin Oberhuber CLA 2012-01-31 11:24:32 EST
I didn't actually record a trace when the issue happened ... I just couldn't get telnet to work.

When I tried reproducing today, I ran into two issues:

1.) The telnet connect just got stuck most of the time, supposedly sine
my target didn't send the expected prompt. After a number of tries and
config I finally got that to work on one target, but it's awfully
    unreliable (I'd even say unusable).

2.) Ran into bug 370237 when testing.

It's possible that in Eclipse 4.2m4 I actually saw as an NPE what now manifests as a different exception in bug 370237.
