I wanted to create a topic branch, so I went to the repository page for org.eclipse.orion.client and pressed the plus sign in the branches list.

It created my branch against the wrong clone. Rather than create it against the remote tracking branch, it created it against a different one (a github repo from a contributor).

I suppose it's just picking one.

Maybe it's always done this (should there be a tracking branch established before it gets pushed to a remote?)

At any rate I didn't trust the branch.

I think it is just the info about what is tracked is wrong. If you try to push this new branch, you'll be asked where to push it.

yeah, I got to thinking that the command hadn't likely changed, just the representation.
