Build Identifier: Version: Indigo Service Release 1 Build id: 20110916-0149

When selecting text in the tooltip pop up in the JDT Java editor (Shortcut F2 -> Java Doc Pop up) and setting the focus back to the editor the cursor does not get rendered in the editor anymore.

The current workaround is to select a different view/editor and set the focus back to the original editor then the cursor appears again.

Similar versions of this bug have been reported and also have been fixed.

It seems that the newest Internet Explorer version reintroduced this bug. We tested it on Windows 7 with the following IE versions:

IE 8.07 -> ok
IE 9.04 -> bug
IE 9.08 -> bug

We could not reproduce the problem under Ubuntu.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download latest Eclipse IDE for Java developers
2. Create a new Java project with a simple Java class + a main method
3. Move mouse cursor over the method name
4. Java Doc Pop up for main method appears
5. Select a piece of text with the mouse in the pop up window
6. Set focus back to editor

-> Cursor does not get rendered anymore

Grant, this happens on my machine (windows seven).
Is this a known IE bug ?

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
