Description John Vandenbroek CLA 2012-01-26 13:08:28 EST
Build Identifier: M20110210-1200

The HTML anchor tag does not work if the target is set to "_blank":

<a href="http://www.ibm.com" target="_blank">This link has target _blank</a>

The tag works if the target is set to "_self":

<a href="http://www.ibm.com" target="_self">This link has target _self</a>

The problem appears to be LINUX specific. It does not appear on Windows 7.

The tag is being rendered in an instance of org.eclipse.swt.browser.Browser.

This bug is similar to bug 346513 but that one is reported against a different Component.

Reproducible: Always

Simply open view Browser View -> Browser View

The links where the target is "_self" or missing open the page in the same view.
The link where the target is "_blank" does not work.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got
resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some
reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it.
The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you
still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is
(for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the stalebug whiteboard tag.
