Description Susan McCourt CLA 2012-01-24 16:51:59 EST
I would like to be able to see the id of a commit on the git log page. Perhaps next to the contributor name.

Now that we are processing so many github contributions from non-committers, the committer id is how I identify the correct commit to cherry pick. As it is now I have to either go to the commit page or hover.

(I like the new hover btw!)
But I realize now that I need to be able to browse a list of committer id's I don't want to have to hover over each thing in the log til I find it. This will also help me to copy/paste it if needed, which I can't do from the tooltip dialog.

Makes sense, but we have more and more data in a row. Before I add the commit id, I would like to talk about the page layout and data shown in a row.

BTW, now you can enter the tooltip and copy/paste the commit id.

thanks for the cut/paste fix.
I think this whole thing is less important if we implement the "open commit" feature, then I won't need to be perusing git log for a specific commit.

The "Open Commit" feature is added. I would like to rework git-log page anyway to look more like the new git pages. I would like to add the commit hash anyway to the page, but this will be .5.

New git-log has it.
