Using default m2e configuration, maven console view debug toggle does not seem to do anything. In order to enable debug log, I have to first change root logger debug level in .metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.m2e.logback.configuration/logback.${m2e.version}.xml

I too am seeing the same behaviour with M2E 1.4.1 on STS 3.2 (Eclipse 4.2.2).

I am also seeing this behaviour in Luna (4.4.2) with M2E 1.5.1.
