Created attachment 209780 [details]
Unit-API 0.6.1 JAR File

Please add unit-api 0.6.1 to orbit.

The CQ was approved.

[CQ 5260] Unit-API 0.6.1
http://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=5260

I've gone through the wiki guidelines: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Adding_Bundles_to_Orbit

As Unit-API JAR already is a bundle, I attached the JAR. If any other form is required, or there's a problem with the bundle, please advise.

Thanks,
Werner

Werner, you might ask on orbit-dev list if there would be in current Orbit committers willing to take on "ownership" of this bundle, or volunteer yourself if you are willing to become an Orbit committer in order to put it into Orbit and maintain it over time (if needed).

Thanks.

Dave,

I wouldn't mind becoming an Orbit committer.

Please advise, what I should do or where apply to become one?

Thanks

I suggest you send a note to the orbit-dev list, stating you are willing to contribute and maintain (at least) this bundle, which project(s) you are currently a committer on, and that you would like to become an Orbit committer ... and then, someone would nominate you, the usual vote and EMO process take place, and then you would be able to contribute and maintain the bundle.

Thanks!

Thanks, Werner, I've started the committer nomination/vote cycle. You'll want to be sure to subscribe to the orbit-dev list. Sounds like you already know about

http://wiki.eclipse.org/Adding_Bundles_to_Orbit

(which, IMHO, is the best guide to adding bundles to Orbit, though there are some shorter one, meant to provide a bit of a "checklist").

You might also browse though the whole category or Orbit docs, to see if anything appear relevant to you.

Oh, and as a reminder, once you become an Orbit committer, you will need to submit a CQ to "add to Orbit". There is a special option in the Foundation Portal "contribution form" to do exactly that ... they are "marked" in a special way in the CQ database ... in particular you'd want to "piggy back" on the original CQ that was approved to add it to an Eclipse project, your 5260.

They are typically approved fairly quickly (since the main IP work has been
done, and it is primarily a bookkeeping issue of another project using it).

Thanks again!

I filed that other QC, can you see it? Guess IC department has a lot to do, despite having accepted the original claim already, especially days before EclipseCon?;-/
Comment 7 Werner Keil CLA 2012-03-27 13:44:37 EDT
Any news from the other CQ?
I know, EclipseCon probably means a lot of madness for some of you, but just wanted to ask, at least IP lawyer(s) may not directly be involved, or have less to do, while others showcase their stuff in Washington;-)

Thanks

Initial commit of Unit-API v0.6.1
Bundle-Name: Units of Measurement API
Bundle-SymbolicName: org.unitsofmeasurement.unit-api
Bundle-Vendor: Units of Measurement project
Bundle-Version: 0.6.1
Comment 9 Roland Grunberg CLA 2017-10-05 15:09:21 EDT
I'm not sure if this ever made it in as I can't see the bundle anywhere. More recently, javax.measure.unit-api 1.0.0 is in Orbit, so marking this as CLOSED (FIXED).
