Stack Trace from kill -3 during hang
(In reply to comment #1) > Created attachment 209039 [details] > Stack Trace from kill -3 during hang The stack trace doesn't indicate that Eclipse is frozen. It happened again. I did a view history with the mercurial plugin, then went away from my computer and came back to find the whole PC frozen again. If I hovered over the various icons they would be highlighted, but I could not click on them (mainly toolbar ikons and the tasks window icons). If I hovered over the bottom/right of the navigator, history window, or some of the other window the little scroll arrows would appear (although I could not scroll) and then disappear. I took a stack trace. I waited a while and played around some more, and the icons stopped being highlighted, but the scroll arrows still appeared. My X session (KDE) was totally frozen. But control + alt + f1 successfully opened up a console session from which I could issue kill -3 to eclipse and then kill -9. Once eclipse died everything became unlocked. The lock may be something in kde that freezes everything, however eclipse is definitely the cause because once I kill -9 eclipse everything unlocks. Attached are my stack traces as ThreadDump20120105.txt. Created attachment 209084 [details]

Which JRE are you using? If you use 7.0 then please try with 6.0. java version "1.6.0_29" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_29-b11) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.4-b02, mixed mode) Essentially the Sun 64 bit jdk for linux. I can't reproduce this issue. Please feel free to file a new bug against Oxygen if the issue still persists. |
