Bug 367237

Summary: In Eclipse Pulsar we are getting an error while installing new updates. The error says:Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency with Pulsar for Mobile Developers 1.3.1.20100916-1202 (epp.package.pulsar 1.3.1.20100916-1202)

Build Identifier: Version: Helios Service Release 1

After we launch Eclipse Pulsar then we click help & install new software then where it says work with we click add & type ADT Plugin - http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse then developer tools comes up with 4 different updates so we click next & then we get the error "Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency with Pulsar for Mobile Developers 1.3.1.20100916-1202 (epp.package.pulsar 1.3.1.20100916-1202)Cannot satisfy dependency". We tried deselecting each of the 4 updates one at a time but we still get the error. This worked fine for us on Friday Dec 16 but didn't work on Monday Dec 19 so it seems like a bad update. As you can probably tell, I don't know much about this software. I work at a college & I'm trying to get this installed so the teacher can teach this to his students. I might even be in the wrong forum, if so I apologize. Thanks

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.go into eclipse - help - install new software
2.click add - adt plug - http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse
3.check off to install developer tools & then click next

Sadly, I think you are indeed in the wrong forum. This sounds like something to report to the Android dev forums (i.e., Google), who produce the ADT plugins: it sounds like their updates have got conflicting requirements.

Right now you've reported this bug against JDT/APT, that is the Eclipse Java Development Tools project, Annotation Processing Tools component, which has nothing whatsoever to do with mobile development. Sorry I can't give you better guidance for where to go next; I am Android-ignorant. Good luck!
