I am trying to set the branding in a simple e4 project (generated by the wizard). In the product config I set under Branding the gif images 16x16 and 32x32. But there is no effect, I can't see anything. In the plugin.xml the images are defined:

<property
    name="windowImages"
    value="Directions_16.gif,Directions_32.gif">
</property>

The icon under TrimmedWindow has also no effect. (See Screenshot and sample Project)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start application
2. look at the main window
3. standard icon is shown, not the defined one

I haven't actually tried your test app, but it's likely that the application is attempting to resolve these files from the current working directory. Try specifying them using platform: style URLs:

   platform:/plugin/testbranding/Directions_16.gif

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
