If I make a change to a Java source file, an asterisk appears in the editor tab to indicate that there are unsaved changes. Very useful. If I then undo my changes (CTRL-Z), the asterisk disappears. Again, very useful.

If I do this same in a JSP or tag file, the asterisk does not disappear when I undo my change. Therefore, the tab is indicating there are unsaved changes when there are none.

Is there a reason for this? Surprisingly, I find this behaviour annoying enough to warrant raising a bug report. If there is a good reason, it will probably annoy me less.

Thanks for your bug report. There's no good reason for it ;) But we already have Bug 138100 open to track it.
