Could be either a bug or feature request depending on your point of view:

While editing a file, both "Commit" and "Push" are available and work correctly. However, it is not possible to use the "Pull" command. The user must explicitly select the project in the package explorer and then perform the "Pull" command.

I believe this should be available while in file view.

Looks like this is fixed in the latest version.
