Description Greg Watson CLA 2011-11-16 11:53:34 EST
I recently accidentally tried to sync to a filesystem where I didn't have write access. The error that resulted was highly cryptic and provided no useful information in trying to determine the cause of the problem:

	Synchronization error for project shallow:

ssh://none/uf/ac/grw/shallow1/.ptp-sync: error occurred during unpacking on the remote end: unpack-objects abnormal exit

ssh://none/uf/ac/grw/shallow1/.ptp-sync: error occurred during unpacking on the remote end: unpack-objects abnormal exit

This situation (and other sync errors) really need to be handled more gracefully.

In the latest version, I receive a clear error message that the directory could not be created. (Actually, the message appears three times!)

This is an old bug. I suggest either closing it or updating it with specific problems that occur now. There may still be cases where error handling can be improved, but this bug is too vague without specific examples.

The error messages now make much more sense.
