(obviously I meant a slighter darker shade of grey... Great, now I've got Procol Harum stuck in my head). I mentioned this in another bug, but while we are styling it, we should look at expanding the width. Great, now I've got > Procol Harum stuck in my head). We are using HTML 5 placeholder attribute. Googled quickly but no simple answer yet. Maybe we want to change the font as well? What about changing the control background color? To me a completely grey text field looks disabled and not very noticeable. Susan I'm sure you and the designers put lots of thought into that, so curious what you think. Created attachment 207092 [details]
Place holders on search box and find box.
The place holder in find box is easier to read because of the bigger font and white back ground.
Another option is to change the search box back ground to white.
Another reason to change it to white, from my point, is that it tells me it is an input box. Otherwise I would think it is read only.

There was a very specific box color chosen for the search box, but I don't remember any particular discussion about keeping the background the same as the banner. I think that usually Linda defaults to keeping things blended until there is feedback that it's not working. I think it's fine to make it white for now to address the issue, and I'll have her take a look. (she'll probably come up with something between white and the banner color). There was a very specific box > color chosen for the search box, but I don't remember any particular discussion > about keeping the background the same as the banner. that wasn't clear (sorry). There was a very specific color specified for the *box border*, and the mockup shows the box background as being the same as the banner background. Susan, I am going through all my 0.4 bugs and noticed this one. Will we fix that? (In reply to comment #11) > Susan, I am going through all my 0.4 bugs and noticed this one. > Will we fix that? let me take this one, we'll be doing a polish pass against the mockup on all the banner elements, and I'll make sure we visit this issue. I double checked this with Linda. fixed with the finalizing of a lighter gradient in bug 371810. Now the text is shown on a nearly white background. |
