Description Hans-Georg Glöckler CLA 2011-11-10 04:09:35 EST
Would it be possible to add the following new Feature to EMF:
Comments to EPacakge
Comments to EClass
Comments to EReference
Comments to EAttribute
Comments to EAnnotation
Comments to EOperation
etc.

Here it shold be possible to write comments for Documentation
It is only for Documentation inside the ecore-Model
Comment 1 Ed Merks CLA 2011-11-10 07:46:58 EST
This is what EAnnotations are for. See EcoreUtil.getDocumentation.

Thanks for your answer.
But I think you have not understand me.
I want to write comment into the ecore-Model
The comment shuold be saved into the ecore-Model
Teh comment should be written into the file-XMI
Comment 4 Ed Merks CLA 2011-11-10 08:25:12 EST
You can accomplish that by creating an EAnnotation just like what you see EcoreUtil.setDocumentation does.
Comment 5 Hans-Georg Glöckler CLA 2011-11-10 08:36:54 EST
But therefore I have to add in the "Sample Edore Model Editor" an EAnnotation.
This is what I want not.
I want, that in the Sample Edore Model Editor I can edit it like for example
EAttribut.name
I want that I can edit it in an normal Editor

For me it is very important and thats for your help/discussion.
Comment 6 Ed Merks CLA 2011-11-10 08:42:07 EST
Well, I don't intend to add additional features to Ecore itself. EAnnotations will have to suffice. Are you looking just for a more convenient way to populate such annotations?
Comment 7 Hans-Georg Glöckler CLA 2011-11-10 08:49:30 EST
I have found the similar discussion here:
http://www.eclipsezone.com/eclipse/forums/t80210.html

The word description is better.

Yes I am looking for a a more convenient way to populate such annotations.
