Creating a subtask in Bugzilla seems to try to copy all attributes over.
I would think thought that quite often copying doesn't make sense. And while with many attributes, especially custom attributes, that might vary on the user, I find it more of a problem to copy an attribute that's wrong in the subtask, than not copying an attribute that would be right in the subtask.

I would propose to exclude a number of stock attributes from copying (e.g. due date, svereity, priority, keywords, maybe CCs), as well as not copying custom attributes at all.

But I guess many people think different, so I am happy to be convinced otherwise :)

bug 364564 raises a good point. I would consider copying assignee as wrong as well. Bugzilla and Mylyn is about team work, so we shouldn't just assume that somebody does all the work :)

Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1].

We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub.
