Bug 363324

Summary: [DS] Rename Component Definition to Component Description
Product: [Eclipse Project] PDE Reporter: Holger Staudacher <holger.staudacher>

Severity: normal

Description Holger Staudacher CLA 2011-11-09 10:05:53 EST
In the current DS Tooling the component descriptions are called component definitions. I think this is miss leading because the xml file is not a definition. See the DS Specification "112.4 Component Description".
Comment 1 Curtis Windatt CLA 2011-11-09 10:29:35 EST
PDE uses that style of naming for Category definitions and Target definitions. While I don't think it is a bad name, I am not opposed to renaming to match the specification's language.

There aren't any committers actively working on the DS component. If a patch is attached, I will try to review. This change will also require us to update our documentation.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
