I have a plug-in named com.foo.bar, and an extension point with the same id as the plug-in.  The PDE complains that it can't find the schema for "com.foo.bar".  Even if I delete the schema, and create a new one using the PDE tooling, it still fails to find the schema.

Having the same ID as the plug-in is common if, for example, the extension point was originally part of "com.foo", but com.foo was then split apart into multiple bundles, one of which became com.foo.bar.  Or, if a plug-in com.foo.bar only provides a single extension point, then giving it another segment after the plug-id ID doesn't make sense.

The could probably be caught as an edge case, but there are not enough resources to work on it.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

I'm closing this because there doesn't seem to be much interest and it's not worth the effort IMHO.

If someone wants to provide a patch, please reopen.
