I would be great if the default for Automatic insert at correct position for 

- Semicolons
- Braces

could be changed to true.

In my Eclipse trainings people are regulary surprised that this option exists and that it is not turned on per default.

-1. I would not change anything here as this is a fairly advanced feature.

(We anyway receive many queries on how to disable some of the more basic 'smart typing' features such as automatic tabbing on pressing enter. Many people use different programming environments and prefer to stick to very minimal smart typing features)
