After 4+ hours of use Eclipse will hang, causing me to lose changes in any unsaved files. This has happened three times within the last week of installation and use after upgrading to a new MacBook Pro.

When attempting to take a thread dump in Java VisualVM, I get an error: "Take Thread Dump failed". I will therefore attach the Mac Diagnostic Report instead.

Similar reports include bugs 355824 and 353531, although I'm not confident this is a duplicate.

Hi, Do you still see this problem with eclipse? Does it happen on eclipse 4.2/4.3?
