AS IS:
Right click on the editor tab, a system pop-up menu will appear offering ONE menu entry: <Close>

TO BE:
There must be menu also "New Editor" menu item too.

The workaround is to use 'Window > New Editor'.

Might have a bug open about this already, not positive.
