While creating a Remote Lua launch configuration, changing '''port''' field has no effect. Because even when it is the same as DBGP_IDEPORT variable in debugger script, debug session does not start.

The real port value is the one available at: Window > Preferences > Dynamic Languages > Debug. Change it to custom and specify your field, then debug will be possible.

Actually this is something which has been fixed already, with bug 362041
