Seems AJDT provides an old update site for the Marketplace. Moving to AJDT.

In the meantime, you can use http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ajdt/37/update to install the newest AJDT tooling.,

Fixed. I now added a new entry in the marketplace for AJDT targeting Indigo 3.7.x.
Comment 3 David Nicholson CLA 2011-11-02 12:04:24 EDT
Tried the http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ajdt/37/update this installed OK but when I restarted eclipse gave an error that I was using Eclipse 3.6 and this version of ADJT was for Eclipse 3.7. So my issue is not fixed.

How did you install AJDT? From the marketplace client or directly from the update site.

Using the marketplace clietn, i notice that you can't determine whether you are installing the Helios or the Indigo-based AJDT, so I changed the description so that the title of the marketplace entry describes the version of AJDT to be installed. I don't think that's your problem since it should not be possible to install the 3.6 version of AJDT into Eclipse 3.7.

You can try installing directly from the dev update site here:
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ajdt/37/dev/update

This should fix your problem.

I thought that you were using Eclipse 3.7. If so, you should not be able to install the AJDT for Helios. I just tried to install AJDT for Helios from the Eclipse marketplace and did not have any problems.

So, please be specific:

1. what version of Eclipse are you running?
2. what version of AJDT are you trying to install?

Please make sure that you are installing the proper version of AJDT for the Eclipse that you are running.

@David,

Are you still having trouble with this?
Comment 8 jose gomes CLA 2012-04-19 13:29:48 EDT
i had the same problem here (and i have to go with helios for now)

i have this eclipse version:

Version: Helios Service Release 2
Build id: 20110218-0911

i go to eclipse market, search for "aspectj" and see:

- AspectJ Development Tools (Indigo)

- AspectJ Development Tools (Helios)

so i choosed helios version

after that i got a message box informing:

the following connectors are not avaliable: AspectJ...

i followed david advice and instaled from http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ajdt/36/update.
Comment 9 Andrew Eisenberg CLA 2012-07-08 18:09:44 EDT
Consider for the 2.2.1 release.
Comment 10 Andrew Eisenberg CLA 2012-09-21 13:54:55 EDT
We are no longer supporting AJDT on Eclipse 3.6. Please move to 3.7, 3.8, or 4.2.
