We package XMLPull in the core WAR distribution.  The version in question is 1.1.3.1.  Eclipse has already got 1.1.3.4 approved. 
Searching through the source I could not find a reference to XMLPull directly so I'm guessing it's a downstream dependency

XMLPull is added as dependency to XStream which is version 1.1.3.1. I exclude that implicit dependency and explicitly adding version 1.1.3.4 in the core pom.xml
