(In reply to comment #0) > 2. Reset "Java" perspective, open the Package Explorer manually (bug 361624), > dock it on the right Did you mean dock it on the left (default position)? When you reopened it manually, did it automatically show up there or did you move it there? Created attachment 205719 [details] Dandling view (In reply to comment #1) > Did you mean dock it on the left (default position)? I meant on the right (non default), this is where I'm used to have it. I don't use Outline view anymore. > When you reopened it > manually, did it automatically show up there or did you move it there? When I reopened it manually it showed up on the left, on the default position. BTW, I admit the Eclipse I was running was not a fresh installation, it was an upgrade of an older 4.1.x instance (updated by p2agent). Anyway, reinstalling didn't help, I still all the things reported in comment 0. Moreover, after playing around, trying to set up the workspace to be similar to what I have in 3.x I ended up with a dandling view which I'm not able to close (see the attachment). Created attachment 205721 [details]
deltas.xml from the workspace I'm trying to open under 4.2
