In 3.x, the view part name is displayed in the ctab BUT if the view title differs from the part name, then a title is displayed in the view below the tab.

4.x does not implement this behaviour.

If we do try to fix this defect, we also need to look at ModelPageLayout.addStandaloneView() methods. These methods accept a showTitle boolean, but do nothing with the value.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Use File->Import Existing Projects into Workspace to import the two projects from the attached zip file.
2) Launch the run time work bench.
3) Enable the "C Category Releng Perspective" capability
4) Reset the Java Perspective

Note that the Sample View view is missing the title "MyTitle" If you run the same test under 3.x you will see that title displayed in a grey background below the CTab and above the view contents.

Note that step 3 above has nothing to do with the problem, just that the sample plugin provided is filtering on capabilities (for testing other things). And that step 4 is needed in 4.x to work around a bug (that is under investigation).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the "stalebug" whiteboard tag.
