It would be nice to be able to create validation filters that accept expressions -regex or comodin-
Without this feature I couldn't been able to create a filter rule to exclude from XML validation files with extension "ds.xml" but not ".xml".
If you happen to have multiple projects with an equally named folder which you would like to exclude, you won't be able to do that -filter only allows you to select a specific file or folder-

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Try to create a filter rule to exclude from XML validation files with extension "ds.xml" but not ".xml"
