When trying to extract the username/schema

String schemaName = session.getAccessor().getConnection().getMetaData().getUserName();

This should be instead

String schemaName = session.getDatasourceLogin().getUserName();

Verified on SE (existing test continues to pass) and on the server, no NPE and the test passes.
