Reproduction:

*) Create a Papyrus project and model.
*) Select the model in the Model Explorer.
*) In the Properties View select Profile tab.
*) Click Apply Registered Profile.
*) Select Standard profile.

It causes the following error:

I cannot reproduce the bug.

Which version of Papyrus are you using ?

I updated this morning from:
Development update sites (version 0.8.2):

    http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/papyrus/updates/nightly/indigo
    (Eclipse Indigo Update)

But now I uninstalled the Papyrus and installed it again from the site and the bug is not longer there.
