One of the advantages of Git is that it can be used in secure labs on machines with no access to the internet. Git already includes a mechanism for keeping repositories on such machines up to date: bundle files. A bundle can be created on a host that does have a net access, transferred to the offline hosts via sneaker-net, and used there as a pull target.

Unfortunately jgit, and therefore egit, doesn't yet support this kind of pull. Similarly, the creation of bundle files doesn't appear to be supported. For sure it isn't in egit,

Adding support for bundles would make jgit/egit useful in a wider range of contexts than it is now.
