- Right click on a project, and select "New > Folder".
- Start typing a folder name that starts with "." in the "Folder name" field

You get the attached exception.

Good pickup, note that at least it doesn't cause an error dialog...

I'll triage this one to Wizards since I think the main issue seems to be that

WizardNewFolderMainPage.createFolderHandle(WizardNewFolderMainPage.java:358)

isn't trapping the exception from core resources..

Oleg, could you please take a look at this one to see if it's an easy fix ?

Filed bug 400910 against Platform Resource that they have to specify the IAE.
