1. Create a new javascript file with this text on a single line:
var foo
2. Click Save. (At this point JSLint produces a "missing semicolon" error on the last character, but it does not appear in the UI.)
3. Add a space after "foo". As soon as the space is inserted, the annotation ruler updates to show the error.

I believe the syntax check should make sure the start,end offsets of the annotation are inside the line range (not including the line delimiters).
