I use XML Editor, and comment the content . 
I find the comment and the commented content in one line.

1.open XML file using XML Editor 
2.comment the content
3.formate the XML file content
4.find the comment and the commented content in one line

Hi. There is a preference under XML > XML Files > Editor to "Join lines" when formatting comments, which is enabled by default. You can disable reducing the number of lines in comments by unchecking "Join lines".
