Description Markus Keller CLA 2011-09-21 12:14:01 EDT
Project summary pages should link to git.eclipse.org.

Currently, the "Source Repository" section lists the repos, but only links to the web view for CV/SVN.

Example:
http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project_summary.php?projectid=eclipse.jdt

I think it might be time to switch over to the "new" Project Summary pages which handle this sort of thing. Agree/disagree?

The "new" page definitely looks better than the old one.

Comparing http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project.php?id=eclipse.jdt.ui to our old page, the only items I missed are the links to Forums and Mailing Lists.

The only thing I didn't really like on the new page is that it's still hard to walk up the parent projects chain. I saw that the parents are available in the left nav bar (which is already a big improvement over the old page), but a breadcrumb bar at the top of the page would make this much easier to see, e.g.:

Top Level Projects >> Eclipse Project >> JDT - Java development tools
JDT/UI
<description we should fill in>
Company Activity
...

+1 to using the new pages

How do I need to enter the Git Repos in the Portal?

For example:
 /gitroot/gyrex/addons/mongodb-persistence.git

Renders as:
  mongodb-persistence (git)
  http://git.eclipse.org/c//gyrex/addons/mongodb-persistence.git
                          ^^

Notice the double slash in the URL?

Can I somehow influence the link text? I'd like to have the "addons" in front of it. Otherwise it might be a little confusing.

I thought that I fixed that. Investigating.

+1 to the new project summary pages. Great job on those.
Comment 8 Wayne Beaton CLA 2011-09-26 14:53:18 EDT
I've released the new version of the project summary pages (which are now more "info" pages IMHO). Anyway, I believe that this solves the problem described in this bug. Reopen if I am mistaken.
