It seems that there is a maximum amount of topics (40) that a user can be subscribed to in a forum. If new topic subscriptions are added, older ones are automatically unsubscribed. If you rely on email notifications to be informed of activity in the forum, this can mean that posts get ignored.

It would be great if a user could be subscribed to as many topics as they require. It would be even better if there were a central setting to be subscribed to all topics that come in - this would save having to remember to hit subscribe when a new topic comes in.

I know that there are filtering options to only see messages from today / unanswered messages etc, but I'd find the idea of email notification as an alternative option incredibly useful.

Are you aware that each forum group has an RSS feed that you can subscribe to? I think lots of people use that for monitoring the activity in a forum.
The other alternative is to use NNTP instead of the web interface. Many of us "old-timers" prefer that interface because it's more like email or RSS than the clunky (in my opinion) web interface. NNTP clients are easy to find; I prefer Mozilla Thunderbird on both Windows and Mac.

I wasn't, but now I am :)

I've set that up and I'll see how I get along with it. I'll resolve the bug as invalid. Thanks!
