screenshot of Problems view with large decoration buttons

- observed on gtk64 with the 4.2M2 test build
- works fine on gtk64 with the 3.8M2 test build
- works fine on win32 with the 4.2M2 test build

- bring up a new workspace, and note that the Problems view has very large decoration buttons (screenshot of this in this comment's attachment)
- switch to another view, note that the buttons look
- switch back to the problems view, it's now looking uglier (screenshot of this will be in the next comment)
- the Markers view shows this as well (and possibly other views)

It happens on Solaris-gtk too, so it doesn't appear to be a 64-/32-bit different.
Comment 3 Carolyn MacLeod CLA 2011-09-16 14:24:50 EDT
- also fails on Solaris SPARC with GTK 2.4.9 (i.e. really old gtk, with no cairo)
- however... it works fine on Ubuntu 10.4 with GTK 2.20.1
Comment 4 Carolyn MacLeod CLA 2011-09-16 15:14:07 EDT
Grant, how old is your gtk64?
And how old is the Solaris-gtk you used? (I assume you mean gtk.solaris.x86?)
Comment 5 Grant Gayed CLA 2011-09-16 15:22:04 EDT
It was on our 64-bit ubuntu 10, so a reasonably new GTK. I think our solaris-gtk is OpenSolaris 11, so also not too old.

As reported in bug 362419, this happens for views with no toolbar items at all.
Please see attachment there.

Problem still exists in 4.2 M4 build. Default Problems view appearance is unusable on GTK, independently which theme I use (GTK/Classic)...
Please consider this as a MAJOR severity issue, it is NOT normal.
Comment 9 Paul Webster CLA 2011-12-12 09:08:29 EST
Bogdan, I can't repo the problem on RHEL6
gtk2-2.18.9-4.el6.i686

Maybe it has to be the latest gtk2?
