The repository user name is currently not set when OpenID authentication is used. The reason is that the username is provided by the OpenID provider and not explicitly configured. It should be added set on the repository to make it available to the framework.

Note, that Gerrit has two user names:

1. User name used for login to WebUI
2. User id used for accessing git repositories

1. and 2. may or may not differ. In case of OpenID authentication, 1. is the e-mail address and 2 is a self-assigned id.

For bug 370300 we have to store AccountInfo (which provides the user id) in the repository configuration because we need the user name to compute the Git Clone URI.

Good point. It seems sensible to use the configurable user ID since a user can register multiple email addresses. What do you think?

Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1].

We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub.
