I have the following (in Rally):

- US1122  Top level EPIC
   - US 1123  Story within EPIC
       - TA2200  Task within story
       
When working on TA2200, when I commit (SVN in this case - shouldn't be relevant), I get US1123 as the default commit comment instead of TA2200

Bizarrely, (and especially relevant for those doing 40 hrs work while on holiday) the correct TA is shown on a subsequent commit.
