Description Andi CLA 2011-08-31 16:35:55 EDT
Build Identifier:

During creation of my forum/bugzilla account I encountered another issue: The password field for the forum login and the password field for the bugzilla account seems to differ. Bugzilla accepted my password and I was able to login but I was not able to login to the forums. I had to reduce the number of characters and I also reduced usage of special characters.

It didn't work with this password: bTgebZ%q<fzht58<H\O9<V4l>

If fixing this is not possible, it would be great to have it documented somewhere or even better: automatically checked, if I use unsupported characters or a password which is to long.

Issue #341156 describes the same problem in my eyes (but it's already closed and was specific to one user).

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create an account with the password bTgebZ%q<fzht58<H\O9<V4l>
2. Try to login to the forums.

Great bug; thanks. I'm willing to bet the backslash (\) is what is confusing PHP. That password is quite awesome -- how do you even remember that? ;)

Oh, PHP. Might also be that it filters out "<" and ">"...

Regarding the password: I don't remember it, KeePassX does this for me (as well as the creation).

I fixed the backslash problem in another bug,
