Description
Lars Vogel
It used to be an optional dependency but this was changed in 2006...for reasons that are unclear to me as the commit message tells us nothing. http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/viewvc.cgi/org.eclipse.platform/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF?r1=1.3&r2=1.4 This dependency is present in 3.x also. What do you need the org.eclipse.platform bundle for anyway? Lars, are you using this bundle for build purposes? @Remy: Not sure if I understand your question correctly. My intent with this bug report was that "org.eclipse.ui.intro" was an optional dependency as it is not always required in RCP apps. I wasn't aware that it is already a hard requirement in 3.x. As this is the case this bug can also be closed. (In reply to comment #4) > I wasn't aware that it is already a hard requirement in 3.x. Yes, in the 3.x org.eclipse.platform bundle, it is a hard requirement. http://git.eclipse.org/c/platform/eclipse.platform.git/tree/platform/org.eclipse.platform/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF?id=d098bee60335635487778e22d2a1a8e971a74c4a > As this is the > case this bug can also be closed. Thanks for getting back to us, Lars. |
