The qualifier for an Eclipse project that is also a git project (the project contains the .git folder) is never replaced. This is because we use the FileHistoryProvider and hence get hit by bug 356020.

I fixed this using a simpler approach with a RevWalk. The fix is in http://git.eclipse.org/c/buckminster/buckminster.git/commit/?id=6cf65dc66b35859de4c2c218f9706f463914e554
