Most of the time, when I try to export a plug-in into my running environment or another install, I get an error.

The error message is (for example):
Could not find the exported unit with id: org.eclipse.emf.facet.dev.core version: 0.1.1.201108261345

This does not say why it is failing though. So I don't know whether this is an internal error in PDE, or if some unmentioned precondition for installation was not met.

The error is coming from p2 when we try to create the repository. I do not know if it indicates that PDE has done something wrong in the setup or if p2 is missing some piece that the content you are trying to install requires.

I get this error all the time.
How can I get more information (log?) when that happens?

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
